A spokesman for Siemens said Monday that the company will release a software update for Microsoft Windows 7-based versions of its PET scanners by the end of this month to resolve vulnerabilities that could be exploited by hackers, although it did not find evidence of cyberattacks against the devices. After further assessment, the company no longer recommends disconnecting the devices until an update is released, the spokesman added.
