Eighty-two percent of 100 information technology and information security officers at US medical device and drug companies surveyed by KPMG think financial information was the leading target for cyberattacks, followed by intellectual property and clinical research, while a majority said government-funded hackers working for other nations were the top cybersecurity threat. Medical device companies cited better technology and an overarching strategy for collecting and protecting data as their top cybersecurity priorities.
