The FDA has given Swedish company BrainCool AB clearance to market the IQool system, which uses focused anatomical zones to regulate temperature in adult patients when clinically indicated. The system provides temperature reduction by using nonstick adhesive pads connected to an automated chiller and prefilled with the nontoxic and bacteria-static cooling agent BCCOOL.
