AdvaMed intends to work with Congress to find the fastest way of ending the medical-device tax, possibly through the user-fee reauthorization bill, the Children's Health Insurance Program reauthorization bill or a budget bill, after the Senate rejected the Health Care Freedom Act, which would have delayed the tax for three years. "The medtech industry stands ready to work with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to avoid a looming, billion-dollar tax increase on American manufacturers," said AdvaMed President and CEO Scott Whitaker.
