Results from a 122-patient double-blind, randomized, sham-controlled trial of Helius Medical Technologies' Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator showed use of the system in treating mild or moderate traumatic brain injury-related chronic balance deficits demonstrated clinically and statistically significant increases of at least 8 points in the Sensory Organization Test without reports of serious device-related adverse events. The study, however, did not meet its primary effectiveness endpoint.
