Strength training tied to lower risk of death, study finds

An Australian study in the American Journal of Epidemiology found people who participated in strength exercises, such as weightlifting, push-ups and squats, had a 23% lower risk of all-cause mortality and a 31% lower risk of cancer-related mortality. The researchers said more effort should be made to promote strength-based exercise.
