A high-definition screening device that would allow liquids and laptops in carry-on baggage is being tested by American Airlines and the Transportation Security Administration at one checkpoint lane at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, and later this month will be in Boston. The CT scanner could be a long-term solution for avoiding additional security measures.
