Facebook shifts News Feed priority to nonbranded content

Facebook has updated its News Feed algorithm to favor posts between families and friends, effectively lessening the prominence of nonadvertising content from brands and media. CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the change via a Facebook post Thursday, writing that it's a result of feedback from users and a goal to increase engagement between users.
