Senate votes against repealing Obama-era methane rule

The Senate failed to overturn the Obama administration's rule limiting methane emissions from drilling on federal lands as three Republican senators voted in favor of maintaining the restrictions. "While I am concerned that the BLM rule may be onerous, passage of the resolution would have prevented the federal government, under any administration, from issuing a rule that is 'similar,'" said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who voted against the resolution.
