Older students with special needs in a Michigan school district are participating in monthly "spa day" projects that incorporate hygiene, practical math and literacy skills. Students research recipes for the projects they wish to create -- from lemon facial masks to chocolate sugar scrubs -- as well as shop for ingredients and then prepare spa kits in class.
