UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond says uncertainty surrounding Brexit is causing delays in investment decisions, with adverse effects on the British economy that are unlikely to lift until the course of its negotiations with the EU becomes clearer. He told the parliamentary Treasury committee that it may become necessary to spur the economy with government cash and warned that the negotiations could grow increasingly bad tempered, with a serious breakdown possible.
