To ease the regulatory burden on partnerships, the Internal Revenue Service announced that it is eliminating the requirement that partnership elections under Sec. 754 be signed by a partner. Previously, partnerships that failed to file a signed election had to request relief under Regs. Sec. 301.9100-2 or seek a private letter ruling.
