Cognitive behavioral group therapy did not prevent weight regain or control cardiovascular risk factors and psychological well-being indicators over two years among obese individuals with type 2 diabetes, compared with the usual care group, according to a study presented at the annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes. Dutch researchers evaluated 158 individuals who adhered to a very low-calorie diet for eight weeks and found no difference in weight regain between the two groups after two years of follow-up.
