Researchers analyzed data from the IMPACT and REPLACE trials involving patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and found that users of FreeStyle Libre, a flash continuous glucose monitor, were able to save more than $120 per person per month, compared with self-monitoring of blood glucose levels. The findings in Diabetes revealed that flash CGM use also led to an improved adherence to the American Diabetes Association's recommended SMBG testing frequency, substantial hypoglycemia reductions and lower acquisition cost than SMBG.
