UK researchers are set to conduct a trial that will test the efficacy of spoon-fed insulin in preventing type 1 diabetes in high-risk babies ages 6 months to 3 years. "Preventing children and their families from having to live with diabetes and its threat of complications such as blindness, kidney or heart disease would be fantastic," said lead researcher Dr. Matthew Snape.
