The CMS said it will further cut funding for navigator groups that help people enroll in Affordable Care Act plans from $36.8 million last year to $10 million this year, saying the groups are not effective and enrolled less than 1% of consumers who signed up for 2018 coverage through the federal exchange. The agency said groups applying for funding will be "encouraged to demonstrate how they provide information to people who may be unaware of the range of available coverage options in addition to qualified health plans, such as association health plans, short-term, limited-duration insurance and health reimbursement arrangements."
