Researchers, reporting in Diabetes Care, studied a cohort of 30 adults with type 1 diabetes who used an artificial pancreas and found reduced A1C levels and less time spent in a hygoglycemic state at 12 weeks. The artificial pancreas uses an algorithm on a smartphone to deliver insulin levels to users to help regulate blood glucose levels.
