A study in Preventive Medicine found many gastroenterologists may fail to follow American College of Gastroenterology guidelines on management of Helicobacter pylori infection in patients. An analysis of 582 physician surveys showed 59% of doctors reported almost always using gastric biopsy during endoscopy to screen for the bacteria, 53% treated H. pylori with standard triple therapy for 14 days, and 58% tested for eradication after treatment.
Study: Physicians may not be adhering to H. pylori guidelines
