A study in the journal Aging Cell found cyclists ages 55 to 79 had immune system function similar to much younger adults. The cyclists also did not have as much muscle mass loss or strength loss or age-related increases in body fat or cholesterol levels, compared with a group of similar age and younger adults who did not exercise.
