Lawsuit challenges Mass. city police's Spanish-language notice of rights

A federal lawsuit seeking class-action status accuses the Methuen, Mass., Police Department of violating Spanish-speaking defendants' constitutional rights by continuing to use an inaccurate Spanish-language advice-of-rights form after a judge deemed it coercive. The lead plaintiff claims the notice of rights misstates information on issues such as blood alcohol content, and she says it nearly led to her deportation.
