Delays on FERC nominations put gas pipeline projects at risk

A dozen interstate natural gas pipeline projects worth $14 billion combined remain in limbo indefinitely as the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission still has no quorum after five months. The White House has nominated Robert Powelson and Neil Chatterjee for the role of commissioners and plans to nominate Kevin McIntyre to become FERC chairman, but the Senate has yet to vote on the nominations despite holding confirmation hearings.
