Kroger has dedicated about $230 million to investments in pricing, service and digital growth, and while the move will likely affect the retailer's earnings this year, it will also allow the company to keep up with the changing wants and needs of its customers, CEO Rodney McMullen said. "We know there is a lot of upheaval in the food retail industry. Our strategy is to focus on our customers," he said.
