PSPs linked to improved RA functional outcomes

Patient support programs comprising a call center or hot line, nursing services and medication and injection guides were associated with functional outcome improvements in rheumatoid arthritis patients taking Humira, or adalimumab, according to a study to be presented at the Annual European Congress of Rheumatology. "Rheumatoid arthritis can be a debilitating disease that has a significant emotional and physical impact of a patient support program in helping patients better manage their disease and improve functional outcomes," said lead investigator Filip Van Den Bosch.
