DIR fees boost Part D subscribers' spending, pharmacists say

Independent pharmacy owners responding to a National Community Pharmacists Association survey cited direct and indirect remuneration fees as their top concern, saying DIR fees endanger both their business and their patients. Pharmacists say DIR fees push Medicare Part D subscribers into the coverage gap and increase their out-of-pocket costs, and are opaque and unpredictable.
