A grassroots movement called Dementia Friends is aimed at increasing public understanding of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia and reducing the stigma associated with them. More than 13,200 people in the US have signed up to be Dementia Friends, which requires some training and education, and the worldwide movement includes 14 million people in 33 countries.
