The pressure on financial firms to cut fees has been building for some time, and several companies are shifting clients from commission-based to fee-compensated accounts. At the same time, broker-dealers are trying to keep fees for advisory and wrap accounts from falling below the range of 75 to 190 basis points of assets under management, experts say.
