A study of 235 physicians in small, independent practices in New York City showed 13.5% said they had symptoms of burnout, compared with 54.4% of physicians nationally, researchers reported in the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine. Senior author Donna Shelley said small practices have more autonomy and control over their work environment.
