A study presented at the International Liver Congress 2018 revealed that 14% of patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease who participated in a web-based lifestyle counseling program achieved the weight loss target of 10% and were more likely to achieve normal alanine aminotransferase levels than those in the group-based program. Italian researchers said the web-based program was not less effective and not inferior to the group-based program and showed long-term efficacy.
