Study: Gluten intake doesn't increase microscopic colitis risk

Eating a diet that contains gluten did not increase the risk for microscopic colitis in women who do not have celiac disease, according to a study published in The American Journal of Gastroenterology. Celiac disease and microscopic colitis patients may benefit from a diet that limits or eliminates gluten, but it is unlikely that symptoms would improve, the study said.
