Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Jay Clayton told the House Financial Services Committee last week that the agency was working with the Department of Labor on developing a harmonized standard of conduct for advisers and broker-dealers. Clayton said there must be consistency between the agencies and that there can't be "asymmetric standards."
