$2.2B tunnel in Seattle expected to open this fall

The two-deck, $2.2 billion Highway 99 tunnel, also known as the Alaskan Way Viaduct replacement project, is expected to open this fall, but tolling rates have yet to be set. The project is three years behind schedule and has experienced cost overruns, but the closer the tunnel gets to completion, the lower the chances of additional overruns.
