Researchers from Sutter Health and IBM Research found that EHR data, when combined with the Framingham Heart Failure Signs and Symptoms, could help foresee the onset of heart failure, according to a study published in Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes. The team used artificial intelligence-related techniques such as big data analytics, machine learning and natural language processing to develop prediction methods.
