About 110 million people in developing parts of the world face food insecurity, and many are edging toward famine amid drought conditions and ongoing conflicts, said Daniel Gustafson of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. International support to help these areas of the world help themselves can go a long way toward alleviating these shortages, he said.
