The fungus that causes white-nose syndrome was found on one western small-footed bat and four big brown bats at Badlands National Park, marking the first time the fungus has been found in South Dakota. Researchers did not take tissue samples and do not know whether the bats developed white-nose syndrome.
Fungus that causes white-nose syndrome spreads to S.D.
