Wearable activity monitors for pets can track body temperature, respiration and heart rates, activity levels and sleep patterns, and the data can be shared with a veterinarian, says Jeff Werber, a veterinarian who outfitted his own dog with a biometric collar. For example, data from a monitor can tell a veterinarian whether an animal's fast heart rate is normal or due simply to anxiety in the office, Werber says.
