A Pennsylvania resident poached thousands of diamondback terrapins and their eggs from New Jersey marshes, federal prosecutors say, and the man is charged with smuggling, submitting false records and violating the Lacey Act, which prohibits trade in illegally obtained species. Federal authorities allegedly seized more than 3,400 diamondback terrapin hatchlings from the man's home last year.
