Cases of canine influenza have been reported in a number of states this year, and while dog owners should be on the lookout for signs and discuss vaccination with their veterinarian, they shouldn't overreact, said AVMA President Dr. John de Jong. "We see outbreaks like this flare up from time to time," and most dogs will recover with basic supportive care, Dr. de Jong said.
