Highly pathogenic H7N3 avian influenza virus killed 1,380 chickens at a farm in Guanajuato, Mexico, according to a Mexican agriculture ministry report to the World Organization for Animal Health. The virus also killed seven of 26 birds in a backyard flock in neighboring Queretaro.
