Western Digital still contends that Toshiba cannot sell its memory chip business to a consortium led by Bain Capital without the consent of SanDisk, the WD subsidiary that is Toshiba's manufacturing partner for NAND flash memory devices. "Toshiba ignores that the arbitration seeks to prohibit the transfer of any JV interests without SanDisk's consent," WD said in a statement.
