AT&T invites third-party vendors for Digital Life apps
AT&T on Monday announced five partnerships for its Digital Life home network platform, hoping that bringing in applications from Samsung Electronics, Qualcomm, LG, Smartthings and Lutron Electronics will deliver more product options to consumers. Companies are proudly displaying their latest connected car technology this year at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, with nearly every major automaker unveiling innovative new platforms. Despite the technology's increasing industry popularity, however, data show that most consumers remain woefully uninformed about the latest connected car innovations, with only 14% of respondents to a recent poll saying they both have heard of connected cars and know what they do. AT&T adds 5 apps to Drive platform
AT&T said it will add five applications to its connected-car platform as part of the expansion of its Drive Studio project facility in Atlanta. Qualcomm President Derek Aberle outlined the chip company's plans for a variety of markets in a keynote address Monday at the International CES.
