China suspected in cyberattacks on Airbus suppliers
China-sponsored hackers reportedly are suspected in cyberattacks on multiple suppliers that work with Airbus: UK engine-maker Rolls-Royce, French tech supplier Expleo and two other French vendors. Sources say the attacks focused on information related to the A400M military transport plane and the A350 propulsion and avionics systems.

85 fintechs apply to do business in Mexico
CNBV, Mexico's banking regulator, said 85 companies are seeking to do business in the country under a fintech law issued in March 2018. The government has been turning to financial institutions as it seeks to address money laundering and help more people enter the formal economy.

App platform Tulip raises $39.5M

Tulip, a startup launched in Israel but currently headquartered in Massachusetts, has gained $39.5 million as a result of its most recent funding round. The company has formed a partnership with German machine tool maker DMG MORI and will design customized apps to run DMG MORI equipment, opening a Munich office in support of the arrangement.

When MDR deadline hits, paper trail, good faith effort could be key
Medtech firms with a paper trail showing strong efforts to comply with the EU Medical Device Regulation may be able to negotiate regulatory flexibility if they can't recertify their devices by the time the directive takes full effect in May 2020. Even companies that have filed for renewal on time may find themselves in this position, as notified bodies are struggling to complete all of the recertifications by deadline, Oliver Bisazza, director of regulations and industrial policy for MedTech Europe, said at the AdvaMed MedTech Conference in Boston.
