    Middle-age and older patients with dyslipidemia who took statins and exercised regularly to reduce their cholesterol levels had an up to 70% lower risk of dying compared with their least physically fit counterparts on statin therapy, according to a study of more than 10,000 veterans in the U.S. The most physically fit patients had the lowest risk of dying.   • Daily soda consumption may increase prostate cancer risk
    Regular intake of one normal-sized soft drink raised men's odds of developing a more aggressive form of prostate cancer by about 40%, Swedish researchers found. They also said that a diet rich in carbohydrates was linked to a 31% greater risk of having milder forms of prostate cancer. The findings appear in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.     An FDA panel has backed the safety and efficacy of Johnson & Johnson's bedaquiline drug for tuberculosis, but also pointed out possible heart and liver-safety issues.
