  • Bill's Gamblin' Hall will close in February for $185 million renovation
    Caesars Entertainment said Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon in Las Vegas will temporarily close Feb. 4 to undergo a $185 million renovation. The hotel casino will reopen in 2014 with a new name. Caesars said it has completed a financing deal for the renovation. "The renovated property will provide visitors with a sophisticated, upscale experience, including a unique rooftop pool and club, which will have a panoramic view of the Las Vegas Strip," Caesars Chairman Gary Loveman said.   • Mohegan Sun: Renovation work is on track at Resorts Casino
    Mohegan Sun, the new operator of Atlantic City's Resorts Casino Hotel, said some of the refurbishment work on the gambling facility has been completed. Construction on the $35.5 million Margaritaville project at the casino resort has also begun. "I firmly believe this property is going to turn a lot of heads in Atlantic City this summer, with all of the new amenities and a redone casino floor.   • $300 million casino project proposed for Holyoke, Mass.
    Charles J. Petitti, who has worked in real estate, construction, property appraising and consulting, is proposing a $300 million casino in Holyoke, Mass. Petitti, who said laws could be modified to accommodate the project, is optimistic about his planned gaming facility though it doesn't meet the $500 million limit required by the state regarding casino developments.   • Developer looks to forge ahead with proposed casino in Milford, Mass.
    David Nunes, a Colorado-based casino developer, said his proposed casino project in Milford, Mass., is definitely moving forward. "We're in a quiet period right now, where I can't comment on ongoing negotiations," Nunes said. Elaine Driscoll, a spokeswoman for the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, said the panel has not heard Nunes' plans.     Sun International has entered an agreement with Newland International Properties to operate and manage a casino in the Trump Ocean Club International Hotel & Tower in Panama. Sun expects to spend $105 million on the project.
