  • 4 Brazilian firms agree to supply wind power at record low price
    Enerfin Sociedad de Energia, Renova Energia, EGP-Serra Azul and Bioenergy Geradora de Energia have secured contracts to sell electricity from 10 proposed wind farms in Brazil at an average price of $42.16 per megawatt-hour, the lowest price ever for wind power, according to Empresa de Pesquisa Energetica, the country's energy agency.   • China's Goldwind aims to expand in Australian market
    Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology is looking to expand its presence in Australia as the country moves to get at least 20% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020.     U.S.-based Continental Wind Partners, which developed the biggest land-based wind farm in Europe, is looking for a buyer for a Romanian wind project that has the capacity to generate enough power for 400,000 households.
