- Prenatal exposure to air pollution tied to lower birth weight
Pregnant women exposed to increased levels of particulate air pollution were more likely to give birth to smaller babies, according to a study in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives. - Premature birth rate in U.S. continues to drop
The rate of premature births declined for the fifth consecutive year in 2011 to 11.7%, the lowest rate in the past 10 years, according to a report released by the March of Dimes.
