- MGM Resorts posts $9.2B revenue for 2012
MGM Resorts International has reported net revenue of $9.2 billion for 2012, including $5.9 billion generated by its wholly owned domestic properties. The company said that adjusted property earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization from its wholly owned domestic resorts was $1.3 billion in 2012. For the fourth quarter, MGM Resorts posted a consolidated operating loss of $425 million, while its wholly owned domestic properties saw operating income of $202 million. TravelPulse

- Accor slips to $789M loss for 2012
Losses from discontinued operations caused Accor Hotels to post a net loss of about $789 million for 2012. Revenue was up 1.5%, to about $7.45 billion, the company said. The company has revealed plans to restructure 800 of its properties to shrink its adjusted net debt. Bloomberg Businessweek

Women want to see chargers for electronics, hair-straightening irons, yoga mats and quality shampoo in their hotel rooms, a Hyatt Hotels & Resorts survey shows. Hotel Bristol in Vienna is the first in the world to install Essence by VingCard, an invisible door lock. The system is compatible with "VingCard Elsafe's patented VISIONLINE system, a proprietary wireless networking platform that connects standalone electronic locks and other guestroom devices and systems" through a server, this feature says.
