Study considers benefits of science-teaching methods
A study by consulting firm McKinsey & Company found that a blend of teacher-directed and inquiry-based methods is most effective for teaching science. The analysis, based on data from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, showed that, while teacher-directed methods improved test scores, inquiry-based methods had the most influence over students' attitudes toward science.

In a study of Australian students involving 12 abstract symbols, researchers found the students remembered fewer symbols after watching animation than they did after watching a static image for the same amount of time.
