AAA to introduce "eco" icons in 2010 guidebooks

Hotel ratings in the American Automobile Association's 2010 TourBooks will have a new twist -- an "eco" icon designating hotels, motels and other lodgings that have been certified as being green. An official with AAA said the group's members are interested in knowing which hotels are eco-friendly, and only properties that are AAA-approved or Diamond-rated, and which have been certified as being green through an official state or national green lodging program, will be eligible for the icon.
