2009 outlook: How supply, demand will affect prices

Alternative energy looked promising when oil exceeded $145 a barrel this summer, but now oil is trading at $37 and the Energy Information Administration predicts it will average $51 a barrel in 2009. While some analysts say demand, and therefore prices, will continue to be depressed because of the economy, others say OPEC's plan to cut supplies will cause prices to increase later in the year.
