5 teams prequalified to bid on Calif. high-speed rail project
ASCE SmartBrief | Feb 06, 2012
Five teams with a combined total of 14 companies participating have been short-listed to bid on the high-speed rail project that could begin in Fresno, Calif. The contract is estimated to be worth between $1.5 billion and $2 billion, although it could be quite a while before bids could be submitted since funding for the project is still unclear. The bullet train is needed to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution, says Dan Richard, chairman of the California High-Speed Rail Authority.
